Our Story

Roaring Tours and Safaris is an offshoot of SUNSET TOURS/AQUA LODGE. SUNSET TOURS started tour operations in the year 1987 and was the pioneer of tourism in the west of Tanzania. SUNSET TOURS was in the forefront in promoting and building tourism in Gombe and Mahale national parks.
AQUA LODGE (subsidiary), a small beach hotel, was specially built to cater accomodation for tourists brought in by SUNSET TOURS. SUNSET TOURS, in collaboration with AQUA LODGE organised top class camping safaris, full board, to both the above national parks. |
GATEAWAY magazine of South Africa had published a special article in their magazine (December 1998). The author complimented by writing "...we enjoyed a five-star camping experience courtesy of the staff from Aqua Lodge in Kigoma..."
We had to close SUNSET TOURS in 2002 because of our moving to Dar es Salaam and health issues. Now we are reviving SUNSET TOURS, using a new name - Roaring Tours and Safaris. With our past experience of over twelve years, we will strive to provide even better services to our clients. |
