Katavi National Park, located in the West of Tanzania, boasts the most untouched wilderness in the country.
You will find a huge population of hippos and birdlife in the flood plains and dense waterways of the Katavi NP. Herds of elephants and buffaloes are found in the woodlands. Numerous seasonal lakes fill with water after the rains making it a heaven for animals from all corners of the park to come for a cool drink, after a spell of dry season. The rare eland, roan and sable antelope species are roam here in abundance.
The Katuma river, Lakes Katavi and Chada, located in the flood plains, become a haven for myriads water birds, and support Tanzania’s densest concentration of hippos and crocodiles.
Katavi offers an estimated 4,000 elephants, 1,000 plus buffalo, abundance of giraffes, zebras, impalas, reedbucks, numerous lion prides and spotted hyena clans.

Day 1: Arrival in Kigoma

- Arrive in Kigoma - Be welcomed with our organized pick-up service coordinated to your flight arrival time.
- Transfer to Lake Tanganyika Beach hotel in a private comfortable vehicle (approx. 20 minutes), followed by lunch at the hotel.
- Free evening in Kigoma.
- Dinner and overnight in Lake Tanganyika Beach Hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Katavi
Meals (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)
- Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel (B&B).
- Transfer to Katavi National Park overland in our comfortable vehicle (approx. 6-7 hours drive) enjoying a spectacular day time drive. Picnic lunch will be provided on the way.
- Arrival at the Katavi National park, followed by camp/room allocation. Enjoy a free evening experiencing extreme wilderness in the middle of the jungle.
- Dinner is provided.
- Overnight in Katavi.
Day 3: Full day Game Drive
Meals (Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner)
- Wake up to the sounds of wild animals echoing from the vast plains of the park as they begin their day, followed by a good breakfast.
- Enjoy a full day game drive in the most untouched and the most unvisited National park (Sightings: Zebra, Topi, Impala, Hartebeast, Giraffe, Defassa waterbuck, Elephants, Buffalos, Hippos,etc)
- Be welcomed back to the camp with a delicious late lunch freshly prepared for you.
- Enjoy a free peaceful and relaxing evening in the wilderness around your camp.
- Dinner is provided.
- Overnight in Kitavi.
Day 4: Full day Game Drive

- Wake up to the wild surroundings, followed by a good breakfast.
- Enjoy a full day Game drive in the wild.
- Be welcomed back to the camp with a delicious late lunch.
- Enjoy a free peaceful and relaxing evening in the wilderness of your camp, recalling all the amazing memories made throughout the day.
- Dinner is provided.
- Overnight in Katavi.
Day 5: Transfer to Kigoma
Meals (Breakfast – Lunch- Dinner)
- Wake up to the sounds of nature, followed by a good breakfast.
- Enjoy the free morning , followed by an early lunch (1200HRS).
- Transfer to Kigoma overland in our comfortable vehicle.
- Arrive at Lake Tanganyika Beach Hotel, followed by dinner at the hotel.
- Overnight in Kigoma at the hotel.
Day 6: Kigoma – Transfer to airport
- Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel (B&B).
- Free morning (depending on the time of departure, complementary Kigoma market tour and Livingstone tour in historical Ujiji).
- Transfer to airport coordinated to your flight reporting time, going back with a handful of memories from the wild and remote Katavi National Park!
